Getting ten or twelve people to agree on a vacation is hard enough. Finding a house that fits everyone, works for the grandparents and the toddler, and doesn’t stretch anyone’s budget is harder. All three of our homes sleep between 10 and 13 guests, and they were set up by a host who travels with a big family herself. Here’s how booking directly with Sandra makes a group trip simpler.
One conversation, not a dozen messages
Group trips come with questions. Who gets the king beds? Is there somewhere quiet for the baby to nap? Can we bring both dogs? What if half of us arrive late? On a booking site those questions can bounce back and forth for days. When you book direct, you can pick up the phone and talk it through with the person who actually knows the house.
Help choosing the right home
- Shore Haven, Gulf Shores, Alabama. Sleeps 10, with four bedrooms and four bathrooms, including two gulf-front master suites. No queue for the shower in the morning.
- Surf Haven, Garden City Beach, South Carolina. Sleeps 12, with a dining table for eight plus counter seating, a heated community pool and the Murrells Inlet restaurants close by.
- Field of Dreams, Cooperstown, New York. Sleeps 13, with a private heated pool and a lightly wooded setting, close to Dreams Park and the Baseball Hall of Fame.
Splitting the cost
A big house shared between two or three families is often better value than a block of hotel rooms, and you get a full kitchen, a washer and dryer and a place to gather in the evenings. Booking direct, there’s no platform service fee added on top, and you can ask Sandra about anything to do with payment before you commit.
Cooking for a crowd
Every kitchen comes stocked with coffee, spices, pots, pans and wine glasses, and each home has an outdoor grill for easy cookouts. For a special night, we can arrange a private chef through our partner yhangry, from a relaxed family dinner to a backyard BBQ feast, so nobody has to spend the evening at the stove.
Everyone’s welcome, including the dog
All three homes take pets, with no special request needed. Every home also has a Pack ‘n Play and children’s dinnerware, linens and towels for everyone, and free parking.
